You are a busy student who desperately wants to find the 25th hour in a day. You stay up later and wake up earlier, but of course this eventually leads to burn out. You can achieve all that you want to accomplish academically but you must commit to spending all of your waking hours effectively. Most time wasters are simply the victim of their own poor scheduling. People generally do a terrible job managing their time and students are some of the worst offenders.
Wake Up at the Same Time Each Day
Waking up at the same time helps you maintain order throughout your day. Set an alarm and wake at the same exact time daily to establish a powerful routine. Routines are the great secret to success. Wealthy people and successful students generally work on a tight schedule, waking at the same time to move into their daily routine. You will not feel rushed or hurried, nor will you engage in ineffective acts while waking at the same time, because you avoid the mental chaos that follows waking 2 or 3 hours after the time you should have waked.
Be disciplined. Ride out periods of insomnia and simply continue to wake at the same time. More often than not you will arise after a full night’s rest and will move into focused and efficient acts which of course complement a disciplined study schedule.
Set Aside Specific Times to Study Each Day
Good students who maintain a busy schedule generally set aside a specific time to study each day. This helps to create order in the mind during what can appear to be a disorderly day. You will not feel rushed or hurried and you will tend to absorb your study lessons with greater ease if you study at the same time each day.
Study after your lectures or classes to retain the material you previously reviewed. Set up at least 2 to 3 hours after school to dive into your study sessions and you will more effectively manage your time.
Engage in Personal Development Daily
Spend at least 20 minutes in personal development to manage your time more effectively. Students who do a poor job managing their busy schedules are simply not thinking straight, or they might be lazy, and these states of mind create poor results in their academic lives. Straight thinkers move into calm, confident acts and structure their day effectively, all because they took the time to clear their mind through personal development.
Meditate or visualize before your morning classes to set the proper tone for the day. See yourself succeeding in the classroom and you will set aside the appropriate time to study and excel academically.
Step Away from the Books
By taking time off from your studies you will tend to manage your time more effectively as a busy student. Pulling back from school helps you establish the proper perspective, meaning you naturally schedule your time more effectively to create a balanced day. Even the most successful students can do a terrible job managing their time, over studying which leads to either academic burnout or sickness.
The students who know when to study and when to play are more adept at setting up a reasonable and consistent study schedule.
Wake up at the same time each day to create a steady routine and manage your time effectively. Set up a specific time for your studies daily and engage in personal develop. Set away from the books to establish balance and use your time more effectively.
Use these tips to more effectively manage your time as a busy student.
